My Writing Side
One of my first jobs was at a daily newspaper. As I worked my way through the grab bag of assignments reserved for junior reporters, I discovered something wonderful: Whatever the topic, if the person I interviewed cared deeply about it, so did I. I’d feel an instant responsibility to make readers care too.
That instinct has stayed with me since — from my early days as a journalist and then magazine writer to later roles as a creative manager and editorial director. It’s been at the heart of my award-winning marketing business, LB Creative, where I have gotten to work with some of the world’s most inspiring people and brands.
All those years of writing are woven into how I approach photography, and vice versa. Ultimately, both practices come down to storytelling, which really comes down to presence. It’s about noticing the details, finding the bigger meaning, and helping others find it — and feel it — too.
While my focus today is on telling client stories through images, over the years, I have also loved putting them into words. Here are a few favorites from the archives.
A Note About Writing Services
My writing background will always be a huge part of who I am and how I work — but at this time, I am no longer offering writing-specific services to new clients.
That said, I’m always happy to share referrals to trusted colleagues, and I love hearing about any creative project. So if you came here looking for writing support, feel free to reach out. I’ll help if I can.
And of course, if you’re looking for photography — I’d love to hear from you!
